The future of social care and support is everybody’s business. These people have made it their business and are backing the Right Care Right Deal campaign.

I'm backing the campaign because it's all of our business. This is about all of our families. We have a big task ahead of us in reshaping existing policy and, crucially, making it possible for carers to provide support without suffering any penalty. But we know the problem has to be tackled and this campaign is about promoting social care to it's proper place at the heart of our communities and giving carers and their families an equal chance to lead normal lives.

‘Older people, their families and carers tell us they are baffled by and fed up with the postcode lottery in care. They want a care system that is simple and fair. And above all they want a system that is consistent and transparent so it’s clear what people get and what they pay for wherever they live. That’s why we are backing the Right Care, Right Deal campaign. There must be radical reform of the care system to tackle what is particularly unfair for older people, their families and carers now, but will be everybody’s business at some point.’

"We are a campaign group for carers across the UK run by independent, unpaid carers. As carers ourselves we have experience of the care system as it operates in the UK today and we consider it to be desperately under funded and unfit for purpose. It relies heavily on carers without properly recognising or supporting them. We believe that the government is wrong to exploit family carers in this way and that it is failing in its duty to support many of its most vulnerable citizens. We support the Right Care Right Deal Campaign "
